After completing art school in 1983 at the University of Georgia, Randy worked with teams of designers and architects to design and construct corporate facilities in Atlanta for such companies as Coca-Cola and Siemens.
Moving to Los Angeles in 1987, he served as Creative Director and Buyer for Modern Living, a prominent contemporary furniture showroom. Among his responsibilities were providing interior design services, buying at international furnishings shows, visiting the studios of renowned architects and designers, coordinating exhibitions and consulting to photographic, film and video artists. In 1993, Randy opened a design studio under his own name, Randy Franks Studio. Since that time a wide range of commercial and residential design projects have been completed in Los Angeles, Santa Barbara, Palm Springs, San Francisco, New York, the Caribbean and Fiji.
